I believe that all ages should have a chance to experience the outdoor world. To listen to the sounds of birds chirping. Watching helicopters flying over head. To feel the wind on their face.
I believe that children who spend time outdoors are healthier.
They are healthier not only physically, but mentally as well. Have you ever kicked a ball across a yard when you were mad or frustrated? Being outside allows the children a chance to let go some frustration they might of encountered earlier in the day.
Yes, there are times when the children should not be outside for long periods of time. Like a thunderstorm, wind chills in the negative numbers. But a light rain on a warm day? How good that can feel sometime. When it is around 30 degrees and snowing? Sure, let's go catch snowflakes on our tongues. Too hot? Yes, there are times when it needs to be limited. But, that is why we have bathing suits and water tables.
I love my back yard, that is one of the main reason we bought this home, for the size. I enjoy my neighborhood. There is so much to do and explore within walking distance. We have 3 different parks that we could walk to in 15 minutes or less. How many people can say that.
I closing, I just want to let you know, that if you are interested in having your child attend our daycare. He/ She will be spending time outside. No matter what your child's age is.
